Chelsea Football Club Hospitality

Location: Stamford Bridge, London
Commissioned by: Chelsea Football Club

Guildprime was employed by Chelsea Football Club to lightly refresh some of the hospitality suites at the London ground. There are various hospitality areas at the club used for corporate events and VIP guests, graded in terms of luxury. Guildprime worked alongside architects KSS, making their design for the uplift of the highest grade hospitality offering a reality. The brief was to give these spaces a 'light but noticeable uplift', so it was evident that the area had been refreshed without a full refurbishment taking place, as this was not necessary. .

Challenges

The usual challenges associated with working in a sporting or entertainment venue did not apply on this occasion, as the coronavirus outbreak meant there were no matches or events taking place to work around.

However, the lockdown created other challenges and problems such as reduced workforce and restrictions with the suppliers of our materials.

The whole project was completed with the health and safety of our team, and the wider community, as our absolute priority. This meant additional and meticulous planning to ensure social distancing amongst the workforce was maintained throughout and that the programme could still be carried out in the planned timeframes.

Outcome

The project was completed on programme and to the client's complete satisfaction despite the restrictions in place. Bringing KSS's design to life, the higher end hospitality areas were uplifted with a luxury finish in more contemporary styling. The stainless steel bar tops gave a fresh and clean feel to the bar area whilst the bespoke joinery wall panels added a unique and stylish statement that created a feeling of a complete refurbishment.
